A new promotional image for the third season of The Mandalorian features Pedro Pascal’s character, Din Djarin, without his mask and holding his helmet, potentially hinting at the direction of the storyline.

The Mandalorian is a science fiction/action-adventure television series in the Star Wars universe. It follows the story of a bounty hunter, known simply as “The Mandalorian,” as he travels the galaxy, taking on dangerous missions and facing new challenges. The series is set after the fall of the Galactic Empire and before the rise of the First Order, creating a unique and rich backdrop for the show’s characters and storylines.
The Mandalorian is known for its striking visual style, blending practical special effects with cutting-edge CGI to create a fully realized and immersive world. Alongside its action and adventure, the series also explores family, identity, and morality themes, creating a complex and captivating narrative that has drawn in fans from all over the world. With a talented cast of actors, including Pedro Pascal as the titular character, and a passionate and dedicated crew behind the scenes, The Mandalorian has become one of the most highly-acclaimed and popular television shows of recent years.
The marketing for the third season of The Mandalorian showcases Pedro Pascal’s character, Din Djarin, without his mask, suggesting that the Star Wars Disney+ show may depict him choosing not to wear his helmet. This is a departure from the series’ tradition as Din, the main character, was raised in a Mandalorian culture where members are not allowed to remove their helmets in front of others. The Book of Boba Fett saw Din grappling with his sense of identity and seeking redemption after taking off his helmet on a mission to rescue his ward, Grogu, from the Empire.
The trailer for The Mandalorian season 3 implies that Din will continue his journey of self-discovery, traveling to the Mandalorian homeworld in search of answers. This move to potentially unmask Din adds a new level of emotional depth to the series, as the audience will now get to see the character’s expressions and reactions, bringing his inner conflicts to the forefront.
Mando Unmasked Ahead of Season 3
Empire magazine’s latest cover, shared by The Hollywood Handle, provides a sneak peek at Pedro Pascal’s character, Din Djarin, without his Mandalorian helmet on.

It’s noteworthy that Pascal is holding the Darksaber, which gives him the authority to rule over Mandalore. Paradoxically, Mandalore is where Din and Grogu are headed so that Din can make amends for removing his helmet and reintegrate with his Mandalorian community.
Will The Mandalorian Pedro Pascal’s Character be Unmasked Again in Season 3?

Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal, has only uncovered his face a few times in The Mandalorian. He first removed his helmet in season 1 and then again in season 2. With the new promotional image featuring Pascal’s face, it appears to suggest that we might see Din take off his helmet once more. This could mean that we will see Pascal’s face at least once a season, but it seems to clash with the already confirmed storyline of Din’s journey to redeem himself and be accepted back into his strict Mandalorian tribe.
The followers of “The Way,” including The Armorer, consider it a transgression for a Mandalorian to take off their helmet. Bo-Katan’s group, however, has a different viewpoint and does not wear a helmet. It is possible that Din Djarin may alter his perspectives during season 3 and potentially even establish his own sect, considering he holds the Darksaber. Nevertheless, it would take a significant event for Djarin to make the decision to remove his helmet.
Marketing for the third season of The Mandalorian is underway prior to its premiere on Disney+ on March 1st. Although it’s possible that Empire Magazine’s cover was created to capitalize on Pedro Pascal’s fame, the image appears intentional in creating discussion. Fans won’t have to wait long to find out, as the third season of The Mandalorian is set to start soon.
